Mag Design and Engineering
Newsletter
Spring 2009
Greetings, Mag Design and Engineering
customers: I thought it would be a good idea to occasionally distribute a
newsletter that describes my company's latest MRI-compatible devices. I
will keep these newsletters short, informative and sent only a few times per
year. If you have any feedback or wish not to receive these emails, feel
free to reply and let me know. If you would like more information about
any of these products, please email me, or visit http://www.magconcept.com. I hope to see you at Human Brain Mapping
this year!

1. Full QWERTY keyboards and numeric
keypads
Mag Design has designed a system that enables
full QWERTY keyboards to function in the MRI scanner. The keyboards are USB-compatible, but
keep all of the USB signals outside of the magnet room. Only low-frequency signals are sent
through the patch panel, thus eliminating interference with the scanner.
2. Pneumatic muscle stimulator
These devices use compressed air to spin an
off-balance rotor. The imbalance
causes the device to vibrate and provides a controllable stimulus. The device can operate from 40Hz to
125Hz depending on the air supply pressure.

3. Olfactometer
Mag Design has developed a 6-scent olfactometer
that uses no metallic parts in the magnet room. The device can be controlled by a simple
parallel port interface or other digital control source.

4. Digitizing tablet with custom mount
This digitizing tablet allows subjects to use a stylus to
make responses while in the scanner.
The size of the tablet can be customized as well as the shape and size
of the mounting bracket.
